A forms processor inputs information into a template as per the client's instructions. Some of these positions require basic research skills. Being able to interpret the data and decide on the correct placement of information in the template is an additional skill for forms processors.
Freelance writing is considered a data entry job because a lot of assignments require the writer to create articles in a certain format. The information is then placed into a template suitable for posting on a website. Freelance writing, in fact, requires the most advanced skills and generally pays better than the other data entry jobs. The writer must usually do research on a topic, write the article, do a preliminary edit and carry out any article rewrites requested by the client.
A survey participant is required to try out products or services and then answer a detailed questionnaire on the experience gained. This is usually the easiest of all data entry jobs. The pay, however varies for the surveys. Some pay in cash, while others pay in points that can be used for discounted or free products.
A numerical processor transfers numerical information, such as accounting information or inventory numbers onto a basic template.
